Privacy Policy
Still OK — Last updated: February 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how the Still OK app (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly and that is generated by your use of the app:
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name (or the name you choose), and authentication identifiers. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and, where you allow it, name and email from that provider.
- Profile data: Display name, optional profile photo URL, and subscription type (e.g. Free or VIP) stored in your account.
- Check-in and group data: Content you create in the app, including group names, membership, invite codes, check-in timestamps, and optional check-in messages. This data is used to show you and your circle who has checked in and to run the app’s check-in logic.
- Device and usage data: We may receive information about your device and how you use the app (e.g. through Firebase and similar services) to operate and improve the service. This can include general analytics and crash-related data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Still OK service (e.g. authentication, groups, check-ins, and status).
- Store and sync your profile, groups, and check-in history so you can use the app across devices.
- Send you transactional messages (e.g. password reset emails) when you request them.
- Process and recognize in-app purchases (e.g. lifetime access) and update your subscription status.
- Understand usage patterns and fix issues (e.g. via analytics and crash reporting).
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
3. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
We use third-party services that process your data on our behalf:
- Firebase (Google): We use Firebase Authentication for sign-in (email/password, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In) and Firebase Firestore to store account data, groups, and check-in records. Google’s privacy policy applies to Firebase: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Apple: If you use Sign in with Apple or make in-app purchases, Apple processes that data according to Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms.
- Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, Google shares with us the identifiers and, if you consent, profile information as described in Google’s privacy policy.
Data is stored in secure, access-controlled environments. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing.
4. Who Can See Your Data
Your check-in status, optional messages, and display name within a group are visible to other members of that group. Group admins can see membership and check-in history for their groups. We do not use your content for advertising or share it with third parties for their marketing.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- You can update your display name and account details in the app’s profile settings.
- You can leave a group at any time; your past check-ins in that group may remain in the group’s history as long as the group exists.
- You can delete your account or request deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will process such requests in line with applicable law.
- Depending on your region, you may have additional rights (e.g. access, correction, portability, restriction, or objection). Contact us to exercise them.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and check-in data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or safety reasons.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (including secure connections and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private.
8. Children’s Privacy
Still OK is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Transfer
Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by our service providers (e.g. Google). We ensure appropriate safeguards where required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy in the app or on our website and will indicate the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
